Albert Street Renovation

A Main Floor Make Over

Working with Appelquist Interior Design Inc., the main living area in this vintage 1950s house, was given a general make over. The kitchen cabinets were removed, and walls were stripped, so we could bring the electrical up to code, and add plumbing and electrical for the new kitchen. New cabinets and countertops were installed, and a very cool looking backsplash tile was added. New hardwood plank flooring was installed in the kitchen, dining area, living room, and front entry. The fireplace hearth was also given a new tile treatment. Walls and ceilings were painted, and the ceiling support beams were clad to match the cabinets. There was also a unique wine rack added to a niche in a curved wall. We also had to deal with a couple of challenges with this renovation, including doing an asbestos remediation in the kitchen, to remove plaster that contained asbestos, and installing hardwood plank over a heated concrete floor.
